Life changing learning & development
for social care.

The Care Development Project (CDP) creates accessible, fully-funded training and career development opportunities for the social care sector in Liverpool City Region. The project is a collaboration between two of the nation’s leading training providers. ‘Skills for Care Centre of Excellence’ Grey Matter Learning (GML) and ‘Ofsted Good Provider’ Complete Skills Solutions (CSS).

There are 3 key aims of the Care Development Project

  • Raising awareness of fully-funded learning & development opportunities in social care
  • Improving the quality of care in Liverpool City region by teaching the knowledge, skills and behaviours carers need to care with competence, compassion and compliance.
  • Creating career development pathways and leadership programmes to help address the sector’s challenges with recruitment and retention.

The Care Development Project (CDP) provides a completely free recruitment service for social care providers. If employers can guarantee job interviews to Liverpool City Region residents, with no obligation, then we connect you with newly qualified Level 1 qualified candidates. We also list your jobs on our website and broadcast them across our media channels.

Care training programmes at all levels of development.

The project delivers a development pathway for learners. Providers can register carers on a programme at any stage of their development.

Programmes are split into 3 stages: Learn, Develop, Progress. These stages demonstrate the full journey of our carers — from entry level learning, to developing their care skillset with advanced courses, to becoming strong, aspiring care leaders to progress in their careers.

Learners are taught the vital knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to care with competence, compassion and compliance.

The project connects social care providers with fully funded training programmes to improve their induction training or CPD programme to up-skill their workforce. The project is also open to individuals wanting to enter the social care industry. There is no cost to eligible providers and learner.

The majority of funding opportunities are only available in Liverpool City Region through a number initiatives by Government and partner organisations. For instance, the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s ‘Adult Education Budget’, or the Department for Education’s ‘Free Courses for Jobs.

However, there is also nationwide access to some programmes funded through Skills for Care’s ‘Workforce Development Fund’, or through multiple Local Authorities funding the ‘Click’ social care eLearning Platform.

Each skills training opportunity has a different eligibility criteria, please check the individual programme.

If you are still unsure about your eligibility, or the eligibility of your staff, please contact us.
