About the Opportunity.

As a Skills for Care “Centre of Excellence”, Grey Matter Learning have supported hundreds of managers and leaders to develop their leadership skills in care.
Well Led is a four-day programme, providing opportunities to explore real-life issues and challenges. It also includes practical examples, specific to adult social care of what well led looks like in a “good” or “outstanding” service.
CQC’s Transitional Regulatory Approach focuses on the Well Led and Safe KLOEs which means the course is more important than ever.
The programme includes a “resource pack” of key learning materials and practical strategies for sharing in the workplace and to support the transfer of learning into practice.
- Module 1 – Looking Inwards – Know Yourself
- Module 2 – Looking Around – Leading a Successful Service
- Module 3 – Looking Sideways – Leading a High Performing Team
- Module 4 – Looking Outwards – Leading in and Beyond the Boundaries of Your Service
Well-led will help individuals to develop their leadership and management potential, gain knowledge and be supported and challenged to put this into practice. It includes an emphasis on reflection, helping individuals to learn from their day-to-day experiences and think about how they can do things differently or get better at recognising what they do well.
Unlike undertaking formal qualifications, which can often feel like a solitary process, Well-led connects managers with their peers.
Well-led is a practical leadership development programme aimed at registered managers and other managers currently working in adult social care services. Learners should leave the programme feeling empowered, confident, connected with others and well-equipped to effectively lead a workforce with the right values to provide high-quality person-centred care. We’ve received overwhelming feedback from managers about the difference it can make.
The Workforce Development Fund (WDF) is funding from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), disseminated by Skills for Care, either through local adult social care employer-led partnerships or direct from Skills for Care (SfC). The WDF contributes towards costs directly incurred for learning and development, such as course/training fees, travel costs, backfill, supervision, and learning resources. The funding is not payable up-front/ at the start of the learning but accessed upon completion of the qualification or learning/ digital programme. The fund also requires certificate evidence for funds to be accessed. Employers pay any required fee to the learning provider and claim funding upon completion.
