About the Opportunity.

As a Skills for Care “Centre of Excellence” endorsed learning provider, over 2,500 people have now successfully completed Lead to Succeed programme with Grey Matter Learning.

They have had tremendous success evidenced through 95% in evaluation averages and 5 star reviews with regular feedback, confirming “life changing” results which have directly impacted on CQC rating.

Lead to Succeed was developed by Skills for Care in response to an identified need within the sector to up-skill existing managers and provide a pathway to develop aspiring managers in adult social care.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) states: “Our data shows that if a service is rated good or outstanding in well-led, it’s more likely to be rated good or outstanding overall, compared with any other key question.”

The programme covers five key areas over five days (usually with two or three weeks between sessions to allow action plans to be developed and put the learning into practice)

  • Module 1 – Successful Behaviours for Leaders and Managers
  • Module 2 – Developing a Positive Culture
  • Module 3 – Effective Supervision
  • Module 4 – Leading and Managing the Process of Change
  • Module 5 – Leading and Managing the Inspection Process

Lead to Succeed is at the forefront of the more formal development of aspiring new managers and deputies. This learning programme will help individuals to develop their leadership and management potential, gain knowledge and be supported and challenged to put this into
practice.

Learners completing Lead to Succeed will understand how successful behaviours and practical strategies can support them in their day-to-day work. They will be challenged to put these into practice, boosting their capacity to lead and manage effectively.

The Workforce Development Fund (WDF) is funding from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), disseminated by Skills for Care, either through local adult social care employer-led partnerships or direct from Skills for Care (SfC). The WDF contributes towards costs directly incurred for learning and development, such as course/training fees, travel costs, backfill, supervision, and learning resources. The funding is not payable up-front/ at the start of the learning but accessed upon completion of the qualification or learning/ digital programme. The fund also requires certificate evidence for funds to be accessed. Employers pay any required fee to the learning provider and claim funding upon completion.

If funding is required – must meet Skills for Care WDF eligibility.
